This mug was a joy to create and represents an incredible amount of work. The form was wheel-thrown before layers of drippy slip were added and carefully carved away to create the space for a delicate filigree frame surrounding a bright rainbow on both sides. Multiple custom glazes were developed specifically for this piece, including a new translucent pink and lilac glaze that pools and flows beautifully over the surface. After multiple firings, gold and copper lusters were applied before the piece was completed through a detailed cold-working process.
